The best way to apply tattoo numbing cream:
To ensure you get the most effective numbing time make sure you read the instructions carefully.
NO Alcohol within 24 hours of the procedure. Some minor localised redness from the numbing cream is normal. We recommend testing a small area 24 hours before your procedure to make sure your skin doesnt become inflammed or react to the numbing cream. Avoid getting the cream in your eyes, nose, or mouth. If you get the cream in your eyes, rinse them with plenty of water. Numbing Creams should not be applied near the eyes. Wash your hands immediately after using the numbing Cream. Discard packaging in the trash, out of the reach of children and away from pets.
1. Wash the area your about to get pierced, tattooed or cosmetic/laser treatment with soap and water. If you are getting a tattoo done, shave the area you are about to get tattooed, shave in a downwards direction to avoid shave rash/pimples.
2. Apply the numbing cream to the area and rub cream deep into the paws of your skin.
3. After rubbing into the skin, apply a 2nd thicker layer of cream (2-3 mm thick) over the area.
4. Prevent the cream from drying out by covering the area with plastic wrap (cling wrap) for minimum 30minutes. The cream will work more effectively if you leave it on for ( 1hour – 1hour 15mins)
For long procedures lasting hours over large areas:
After the outline has been complete, before you begin the shading/colour, you can re apply a layer of numbing cream over the broken skin for no longer then 10minutes. do NOT cover with cling wrap this time.
If the outline has already been done and healed from a previous session, apply numbing cream over the entire work area (1hour), remove cling wrap plastic in sections as your tattoo artist progresses through the tattoo for a better longer numbing effect.
Skin typically remains numb for 2-5 hours once cream is removed from the area depending on how thick you applied the cream, also depending on skin type and location on body.
